I would make it a law that candidates can only receive campaign funding from the individuals registered to vote in the district which the position covers. I am open to further amending this with a cap amount..if voters' names are used to funnel funds from interest groups. It's one thing for machinist James Dunner to contribute to the campaign of a local politician; it's another thing for money from Union Member/Halliburton Employee James Dunner to go to a politician.

The local nature of the campaign funding makes this manageable on the local level with little oversight at a higher level. These documents should be open to the public. Fundraising events are much simpler since you can only hit up the same people so many times for money.

as long as you keep the funds balanced. it isnt hrd for me to see a pace where more of one party will or is able to contribute thus allowing that candidate to outspend their opponent.

im a big fan of a common lump sum, collected via taxes as the only way to fund a campaign. what better way to eliminate questionable donations than to eliminate them entirely.

elections should be about the persona nd the issues, not the amount of cash you can raise to buy your seat.

Probably unworkable but I like the concept. Local money to local people.
