csberryI would make it a law that candidates can only receive campaign funding from the individuals registered to vote in the district which the position covers. I am open to further amending this with a cap amount..if voters' names are used to funnel funds from interest groups. It's one thing for machinist James Dunner to contribute to the campaign of a local politician; it's another thing for money from Union Member/Halliburton Employee James Dunner to go to a politician.
The local nature of the campaign funding makes this manageable on the local level with little oversight at a higher level. These documents should be open to the public. Fundraising events are much simpler since you can only hit up the same people so many times for money.
