Apr. 3rd, 2006 12:46 pm1. I stumbled on Xponential Radio late last week after having some problems with KFOG's stream. Xponential is NPR's AAA (Album Adult Alternative) network that they are promoting as a secondary signal for public radio stations to put on the air/internet as they upgrade to digital broadcasts. I miss DJs but really enjoy the music more than a lot of other AAA outlets online.
I use this stream from Western Illinois University. Click the "Tri States Public Radio, Too" link for audio.
2. The new Doctor Who on Sci-Fi Channel. I can't say that I've watched more than an hours worth of Doctor Who in my life. I'm one of those superficial sci-fi people that can't keep his attention on a show with cheap effects. I never could get into the original series running on PBS stations and still rarely watch any ST:TNG eps before Riker got a beard because of this sci-fi prejudice of mine.
I have nothing but love for the new series. I missed "Rose" but have seen the episodes that Sci-Fi has shown since. This also lead me to spending about 3 hours on Wikipedia the other night reading up on Doctor Who, the history of the characters, show, and such. So,
outherelistenin and I have something new we can discuss in LJ!
3. Wikipedia - I've used it occasionally through the years, but I've never considered it the most reliable source of correct information. After one of its articles came up in a Google search I did the other night, I've been bouncing around the site in a steam-of-consciousness/links manner. Put in one subject and follow links through the day as my "background fun" while taking breaks from working. I still take everything I read on the site with a grain of salt, though.
4. Crazy Bread and Crazy Sauce have snuck back into my diet. Little Caesars just opened in the n'hood. I hadn't eaten their food since high school but had to buy some crazy bread a couple of weeks ago to see if it was as good as I remembered. Yep. About a dozen orders of crazy bread later...*burp*
5. Prep H wipes with witch hazel - OH the cool comfort and sanitary rubbing of my recently itchy rear!!!
