I've loved Ding How for so long -- I used to go to the original one on Triana Blvd. I still feel they make the best Mongolian beef that I have ever tried (and that's usually the first thing I try at a restaurant). However, since moving back to town, I haven't been all that impressed with their other items. It's still good Chinese, but...

A month ago, two folks separately recommended China Sun in that strip mall across Bailey Cove from Grissom. I tried it and loved the pork lo mein and thought their egg rolls were the best I've had in a few years. We've gotten food from there about four times and each meal is as good or better than the last. JD and I have ordered several things off the menu and they were all superb.

Very much worth trying if you're in SE H'ville.

since i lived in DC and ate in china town quite frequently, i have gotten extremely picky!

Which side of DC did you pick to live in - MD or VA? When I was in D.C. covering Clinton's impeachment trial, it was a must for me to play tour guide to the radio guys from Nashville broadcasting with me. We usually went to the typical Capitol staff places on the east side of the Hill but rolling down the street to Chinatown for lunch was always a nice departure from the 20-something interns and pages in their suits and short skirts.

One of the things that sucks the most about my dad finally retiring from the Army was that he had an amazing knack for getting stationed around D.C./Baltimore. I've been able to visit there every couple of years for much of my life because of that. Sadly, I think my last time to go there was about 5 years ago at the end of their last stint there. (My mom and dad's last days of work at the Pentagon was the end of Sept 2001...Yep, just in time for them to still be there for 9/11. The plane went into the middle of one side. My dad's office was at the corner on one side and my mom's was at the corner of the other side.) I miss my trips there and yearn to visit my usual art museums and the new Native American museum on The Mall.

Oh wow. Thankfully your parents survived!! I had just moved home that May from up there. I was frantic because my then fiance was in Baltimore. All I kept thinking about that day was how in the heck I would have gotten home. I worked in DC and lived with Rob in Baltimore.

In answer to where I lived. Well I started in Woodstock and then to Springfield, moved to Alexandria, then Springfield, Lake Ridge, Woodbridge, and then Lorton. After Lorton I moved to Baltimore with Rob. I was up there for about 8 1/2 years, most of which were spent with my ex husband.

I loved it up there, after I left my ex. I loved going to the museums. I worked about two blocks from the National Gallery of Art. I loved going there. I would love to go back up there. I have a job waiting for me. I really do. My boss there loved me!
