csberryI know that today isn't Christmas, but I'm missing out on holiday fun.
I previously mentioned the cold that has been harassing me the past few weeks. Well, this morning I woke up with a severe sore throat and was barely able to swallow. After a trip to the doc-in-a-box (and $300) I know that I don't have strep, but have all the symptoms of it. They shot me up w/ steroids, antibiotics, and gave me a prescription for additional antibiotics. Went by Walgreens and picked up some of those Cloraseptic strips that melt on the tongue for immediate pain relief while getting my prescription filled.
Now I:
1. have a headache.
2. have a tingly/numb face (from the Cloraseptic?)
3. can swallow slightly, but would rather spit than swallow saliva.
4. have a very sore neck.
5. get the occasional coughing fit w/ phlegm of a thousand colors.
6. have a completely sore ass from the shot in each cheek.
7. feel miserable that I am not on my way to B'ham right now to celebrate Xmas w/ both sides of JD's side of the family today.
JD is currently in the back of the in-law's SUV w/ Nigel, while Calvin and his cousin Carter are in the middle row and her parents are in the front seats. Now, can you imagine how much fun it would have been to cram me into that? My ass doesn't even want to think about it.
The doc said that the steroids would have me swallowing well by this afternoon, so I'm hoping I feel better later today.
