Aug. 15th, 2004 06:51 pmMaybe I'm lazy. Maybe my productive scheduling is just not worth following.
I awoke with sore muscles and a stinging red neck from my inability to put on sun screen. Spending the day pushing dirt around w/ a rake and shovel was not anywhere near the top of the list of things I wanted to do. Ditto on installing the metal border.
Instead, I pulled up the mailbox post, hammered it securely together where it had worn loose, painted it green, and put the new large mailbox on there. I even took the numbers off of the house and painted them the green that the mailbox post is painted. Next weekend JD will probably paint the red parts of our shutters/panels that same green while me and the grandparents deal with the mulch. Sure, I'm talking about having a pregnant lady paint, but we're talking exterior painting!
Calvin has been especially TWO the past few days. Today all of his antics were on my last nerve. Everything that he could pull out, dump over, or rip...he's done it. If I had to be a stay at home parent, I would have put that boy into day care a long time ago. JD's ability to stay sane with him with her all of the time is not shared by me. If he was a cat, I would have soaked him by now with the "discipline water gun." JD says I'm not allowed to use that with the boy.

Date: 2004-08-15 07:41 pm (UTC)Yes, my patience with the kiddos has worn thin several times in the last few weeks. It comes and goes. If I had to stay at home with them every day, I would be in a mental ward, for sure.
