All Music Guide Addiction
Jun. 28th, 2004 09:33 pmI have become a devout reader of the All Music Guide. My love for Subterranean has lead to me researching bands during/after seeing their videos on MTV2. It's great that I can find out a ton of shit about these groups that would just solicit a raised eyebrow at most record stores.
A game that I'll play occasionally is to try to remember some of the more obscure bands that I discovered in college radio. Nearly all of them are there (mostly local/small regional bands missing).
I hope that I still have a good enough income to start regularly buying CDs again. Although I was able to weed my CD collection down to 650, I'm finally going to have access to the two 400-disc carousels and can gladly accept more music.
***TANGENT***
Mmmmmm, I can't wait to type in all of that info into the jukeboxes so I can do searches on the TV screen at last! I never had the time in Dallas to put the information in and never put more than a couple dozen CDs in because I kept waiting for the time to do that. Thank God I'll have time now.
***END OF TANGENT***
I've always used mp3 hunts for hunting out singles, but have bought CDs after I heard a few songs that I really liked. My interest in today's college rock has accelerated the number of CDs I want to buy.
