This post is going to be very similar to [livejournal.com profile] peteydaddy's from a week ago. It is partially inspired by a parallel between the two of us and a discussion I had w/ another adult leader on the Scout trip this past weekend.

Tomorrow night I'll be going w/ my mom and Calvin to see Sesame Street Live! at the VBC. Below is a mostly-complete list of artists/bands I've seen in concert. This is somewhat in chronological order. Many minor/unsigned bands that I saw while working at the college radio station have been left out because I know I can't remember them all.

*Alabama
*Oak Ridge Boys (can you tell my parents are country fans?)
*Aerosmith (twice)
*Cinderella/Winger/BulletBoys - had my first French kiss after this concert.
*Barry Manilow (11th row, house right...Barry was on stage right and sang all of his songs to ME!)
*Pixies
*Guns & Roses/Skid Row (right before Use Your Illusion I&II came out)
*WHFS Festival '92 (D.C.) w/TMBG, Soup Dragons, Charlatans U.K., Manifesto, Ocean Blue, Gram Parsons, and some more...
*Lenny Kravitz/The Cult
*The Cure
*Pink Floyd (did it loaded and still scored a "B" on my geology final the next morning at 8am)
*The Ramones (no banter, just "1,2,3!" shouted between songs)
*The Cramps (wickedly fun)
*Dick Dale
*Lollapalooza w/Primus, Alice in Chains, Dinosaur Jr., Front 242, Arrested Development, Tool, Babes in Toyland, Rage Against the Machine (twice - Nashville & Atlanta)
*Jesus Jones/Stereo MC's
*Phish (once was all I needed...maybe it was the 30 minute rendition of "The Wheels on the Bus")
*Dee-Lite
*Juliana Hatfield
*Man or Astroman? (twice)
*Blind Melon/Alice Donut (went for AD and stuck around for part of BM)
*Matthew Sweet
*Concrete Blonde
*Tori Amos (twice)
*Frank Black
*Cracker
*James Taylor
*Jellyfish
*Tom Jones - THE BEST CONCERT I HAVE EVER BEEN TO!!!
*George Winston (twice)
*Ani DiFranco (4 or 5 times)
*Prince
*Presidents of the United States of America
*Jars of Clay

I know that I'm missing some, but my box w/ tickets and passes is still locked away in storage.

Artists I still really want to see:
XTC - yeah, like that's going to happen
Steely Dan - now that it's more likely to happen than back in the 70's
Neil Diamond
Ben Folds (added points for Bill Shatner being the opening act)
Henry Rollins for spoken word (missed my chance when he came to St. Louis a few years ago)

I remember that one! That was the whole sleeping in the car incident too, wasn't it?

Btw, the boys and I hope to see you at Sesame Street Live tomorrow night. I won tickets, or there's no way I'd be taking them. We'll be in the nosebleed section, but we'll be there. Hope to spot you!

We are planning on arriving early so we can spend time at Big Spring Park before going into the VBC. Would love to see you then, if you can make it.
