Isaiah wasn't a wishy-washy guy at all. Everything I read in the book had him either waxing glorious tales of how God has/will bless the Jewish people or him screaming in frustration and anger about the horrible things the people have/will do and how God has/will punish them for those failings. There is tons of imagery used by him and that really slowed me down when going through this book. It was one thing to not get the details of the Law in Leviticus or skimming over the census lists in Numbers, but the prophetic dreams and metaphors in Isaiah invited closer reading and pauses to think over what I had just read. I fell a few days behind because of my desire and need to slow down to better digest what I had read.
