FOLLOWUP: Kroger is trying to kill me

csberryThis evening after the scout troop meeting, I took the remainder of the apple chunks to Kroger to swap out for a fresh bag. Once someone decided to come and man the customer service desk, I told her of the situation. The lady told me that I could go fetch a new bag from aisle 6.
I went to aisle 6 and found a single bag of the apple chunks next to the overflowing supply of pineapple and mango options. Upon pulling the bag off the shelf, I immediately noticed that this bag ALSO EXPIRED ON MARCH 10, 2011! I called around 1pm today with the complaint...at what point was someone going to check to ensure that there were no other expired apples on the shelves? Were they ever?!
I took the bag with me up to the desk and let her know that the only bag they had was also 2 months expired. She shrugged, tapped the register, and gave me my money.
The complete lack of follow-up on my complaint 8 hours ago and the seeming apathy by the customer relations woman tonight has definitely spurred me to not let this slide. I'm taking my complaint up the chain of command until I reach someone that seems to actually care. I basically only shop at Kroger when they have an excellent sale on something we have good coupons on that item, too OR in an emergency because we live about 3 blocks from one while Publix is several miles away. One can't really shop any less than I do at this store to show my disapproval via "boycott," so I feel a need to take the vocal protest route instead.
