This is the last straw with Bush!

Other than the tax cut, he has shown that he isn't a fiscal conservative. The bloated bureaucracy of the Dept. of Homeland Security, his protectionist steel tariff wars, increasing NASA's budget when the agency can't seem to remember how to scratch its own butt (I have NASA employees here at Marshall telling me this, too), and Bush puts this increase in NEA on top of it all. He may have conservative moral stances, but his desire to increase the Federal govt and Big Business is no different than what we call Democrats here in Alabama.

I'm really disenfranchised on this election. I will definitely be voting Libertarian this election because I don't feel a need to lend my support to Bush or any of his likely opponents. Lieberman is the only one I would have voted for on that side of the aisle.

I'm too sober to vote for Mosley-Braun, Kucinich, or Sharpton. Don't think Gephardt is executive material (he's good in Congress as minority leader, but lacks vision). Don't trust Clark (no one my parents know in the military trust him either). Edwards is too pro-lawyer/lawsuits, but he a lesser evil candidate for me. Dean's going to crack before the primaries are up. Kerry and I just don't agree on that much, but I respect his service to our country in the military and in Congress. Lieberman is who I would most likely vote for, but definitely not enthusiastically.

So here's to waiting for Fred Thompson, Arlen Spector, Zell Miller, Ann Richards, or Colin Powell to run in 2008.

I'd give my right arm if Colin Powell would run...
he was going to until they began attacking his wife ... at least, that's what he said before the republican primaries when Bush was elected.

Colin won't run because his wife doesn't want him to run for a national office. She doesn't like the dirty politics game and told him that she can't deal with him being attacked during a campaign (either politically or violently). I think the only hope is for him to accept VP on a ticket and then rise from there.
