[Error: unknown template qotd]Since early childhood I've had recurring dreams of me going off a cliff. Most of the times I'm driving in a car and...whoops, I missed that bridge and off the cliff I go. Although I don't doubt that these dreams scared me as a kid, by the time I was in middle school, the thought that crossed my mind when this would happen became a resigned "Well, that was stupid."

Otherwise, a lot of my dreams occur in large dreamscape buildings - labyrinthine malls and back corridors of mammoth structures.

Ever land or actually crash? I find when I have dreams like this I always wake up before the crash happens. Also, when I get shot in my dreams, I can feel it. It's a pressure, and I'm sure it isn't like what you feel when you get shot, but I notice it none the less.

Most of the time I just have the feeling of falling and I've woken up with the sensation as if I just fell and landed in bed. I also know that I've landed in the water in my car and then either struggled to get out or just rode the car down into the water.

I've been aware of myself in dreams and capable of controlling my dreams since a young child, so I haven't been afraid to "play" with what I dream. I know there have been times when I found myself in an "off the cliff" dream and I've rewound and replayed the going off the cliff many times altering different aspects each time to see how things unfold.

Fascinating. I've only had sporadic experiences with lucid dreaming, but it was always fun when it happened. More often than not, I feel like a camera in my dreams as my POV is this third person limited thing, so I kind of understand the VHS thing you're talking about, but I've never had that kind of control over time in my dreams. I would so look forward to sleep just for that.
