My favorite place is Washington D.C. My dad was stationed in D.C./Maryland several times during his Army years, so it was the second most familiar location to me other than Birmingham. Years of being a tourist and then my growth of political interest furthered my love for the district. If possible, I want my ashes spread in D.C. - a third around the WH, a third near or in the Capitol, and a third on the steps of the Supreme Court. Hopefully a Senator or Congressman will help JD and/or the kids handle whatever security concerns folks might have of spreading "white powder" around these sites.

Lord knows I've done my share of traveling as an Army brat and within the last ten years, but my favorite place to be is the grounds of the Palace of Versailles. Just like you, I want to be cremated; however, I'd like to have my ashes scattered around Versailles' Orangerie and in Neptune's Basin, the signature fountain. Also like you, unfortunately, the security and health concerns of such an endeavor may give one pause, if not just outright prohibited. Still, I do have a special place in my heart for Buenos Aires in February.
