Writer's Block: Let's stay friends

I think my ability to remain friends with my previous romantic interests is because of a decision I made in high school. I thought it was silly how people would pair off without knowing much about their date's personality and interests. I felt that it was best to establish a friendship first and then segue that into a romantic relationship. Although I struggled with overcoming the perceived lack of romantic interest, I don't have any concerns about an ex having ill will towards me.
