You are supposed to write a note with the Firsts for YOU.

1. Who was your FIRST prom date?
My girlfriend at the time, Pam Hayes

2. Do you still talk to your FIRST love?
Yes, JD and I even had dinner with her a couple of weekends ago.

3. What was your FIRST alcoholic drink?
Toss up between the sample of beer from parents as a wee one or my preference for the wine served in the middle of the tray during the Protestant services on post (I thought it was a choice of grape or apple juice and not grape juice or white wine).

4. What was your FIRST job?
Working at the Service Merchandise across from Madison Square Mall (Store 181). I worked the Self-Service area and filled-in in the warehouse occasionally.

5. What was your FIRST car?
Blue 1985 Chrysler Laser

6. Where did you go on your first date?
Bullet Boys/Winger/Cinderella concert at the VBCC with Mary Ann Locke.

7. Who is the FIRST person you thought of this morning?
Harper...because I went to her bed at 4:50-something this morning and fell asleep. I woke up with Harper playing peek-a-boo with me.

8. Who was your FIRST grade teacher?
Ms. Small until she went on maternity leave, then some woman that I've always recalled as evil.

9. Where did you go on your FIRST ride on an airplane?
West Germany (it was the 70's, so it was "West Germany," not just "Germany"), my dad had just been stationed there.

10. Who was your FIRST best friend & do you still talk?
That was Justin Peterson in 2nd - 4th grades. I talked to him sometime around 7th grade but he barely remembered me and the phone call turned short and disappointing. I've Googled him a few times, but never convinced I saw anything about the correct Justin Peterson.

11. Where was your FIRST sleepover?
Probably over to David Nolan's house during 8th grade.

13. Whose wedding were you in the FIRST time?
Ok, the question isn't the first wedding I was in but whose wedding I was in the First time...like I have to pick someone whose first wedding I attended (as opposed to their second marriage ceremony?). Anyways...I think the first ceremony I was in was my cousin Roger's wedding to his first wife...so I guess that covers both possible interpretations of the question.

14. What was the FIRST thing you did this morning?
Told JD I slept too late to do WiiFit this morning as I usually do.

15. What was the FIRST concert you ever went to?
Alabama at the BJCC in B'ham in the very early 80's.

16. FIRST tattoo?
None. I never became satisfied with what I wanted to have permanently placed on my body.

17. FIRST piercing?
None, although I'd like an eyebrow ring.

18. FIRST foreign country you've been to?
West Germany

19. FIRST movie you remember seeing in the theater?
I'm positive that I watched some Disney movies on post in the 70's, but the first one I remember going to see was Star Wars. I saw it in 1980 and was particularly looking forward to the scene where Luke and Leia swing across the chasm. Alas, I had horrible timing and had to go to the bathroom and missed it.

20. FIRST Detention
Never had detention. I only recall getting in trouble at school once that wasn't resolved by a stern talking-to by the principal or assistant principal. I got a few licks in 8th grade when Richard Best and I hid some kid's gym clothes because Rich remembered his locker combo from the year before.

21. What was the FIRST state you lived in?
Alabama

22. If you had one wish. What would it be?
The ability to have clear and calm communications with anyone!
(ability for customers with tech support questions to provide me clearly with their problem and me to reply back in a way they understand; ability to discuss things with Calvin w/o him going ballistic or me getting impatient; being able to understand the variety of accents I encounter on the phone without asking folks to repeat themselves)

23. What is something you would learn if you had the chance?
How to snow ski

Oh, my, let's see:

1. Can't remember her name now (yes, it was a she); quintuple-dated with my best friend Bert and Theresa, Eddie and Sabra, Sabra's brother and his girlfriend, Eddie's brother and his girlfriend. Long, terrible night.

2. Every day!

3. Shot of vodka from my father when I was about 9. Parents hoped it would steer me clear from alcohol for at least a good while, but it didn't work: I asked for another.

4. Assistant custodian at a laudromat in Nuernberg, West Germany, 1979.

5. 1973 Toyota Corolla; parents bought it brand-new in 1973, then gave it to me and my brother to drive in 1982.

6. First real honest-to-goodness date was to a haunted house (during Halloween, natch).

7. My partner, Lynn . . .

8. I had two: Ms. Mallory (fun fun fun!) in Alabama, then I moved to Michigan and had Ms. Wallison (harpy, harpy, harpy; even my parents couldn't stand her).

9. West Germany (1974; father was stationed in Wildflecken).

10. My first best friend is Bert Pate, who still lives in Alabama. Haven't spoken to him since my mother's memorial service in 2001.

11. Can't remember back that far.

13. I'm reading the question as "when was the first wedding you were in?" It's worded a bit awkwardly. I was a candle lighter in Darla and Dewey Dumond's wedding in 1972.

14. Woke Lynn up so we could go to physical therapy for his broken ankle.

15. KISS at the BJCC, 1977. First time I told a really big lie to parents and went out of town without their permission. Really ballsy and stupid for a 13 year old. Also first time I remember getting really, really grounded.

16. Still got it: Prince's symbol on my left shoulder blade, 1998, Julie Moon Designs, Seabrook, New Hampshire.

17. None and never will. Piercings are my brother's bailiwick.

18. West Germany (lived there for about four years; graduated from high school there).

19. "Jungle Book" at the Calhoun Theatre in Anniston. My mom, my brother and I had to park the car in the parking lot behind Hudson's and had to walk through that godawful store. Smelled constantly like old people and mildew.

Hope this is of some interest and isn't too long!
