I don't think it qualifies as a "film" but I must first mention Dancing Outlaw. I STRONGLY recommend anyone that loves Christopher Guest movies and People of WalMart go to YouTube and find some of the videos posted there from the documentary.

i L-O-V-E Dancing Outlaw. my dad is a WV native and a mining engineer so i spent a lot of my years growing up in the Wild, Wonderful state. one of the prep plants he used commute to a lot was right in the area where Jessco White lives. i found the website of the guy who directed that documentary, and he has a lot more regarding the appalachian area. one that i'm really interested in seeing is about that guy who went around the south and set up the three crosses (2 blue for the thieves and 1 gold for Jesus) on random plots of land. he was from a town right next to the one where my dad grew up.
