Writer's Block: War and peace

[Error: unknown template qotd]

As a libertarian, patriotic Eagle Scout ArmyBrat, I think there are great lessons to be learned by being in service to the public. I'm all for creating and promoting short-term military service and programs in the "charitable" aspects of the govt to high school graduates. But I think shoving people who don't want to be in either of these govt positions is unethical and inefficient.

I'm not really certain about what the second question is getting at. I believe that military service can help to pull families up the economic ladder. There is a greater effect (as one might expect) by doing college and becoming an officer, but I believe that military service that doesn't kill or handicap you will economically benefit you.

I've been reading through the comments on this question. You have said a hell of a lot in a very short, succinct way. Thanks for the sharing.
