It saddens me that I just mentioned this to JD (who read the Twilight series out of rubbernecking curiosity) and she then went on to explain to me that the vampire baseball thing is actually from the Twilight books. I thought some LJ user meshed his love for MLB with Twilight. No, it turns out that not only are these vampires vegetarians...but they play baseball with trees as bats deep in the woods so the thunderous cracks of the tree-bats don't scare people.

Or has JD finally mastered keeping a straight face while telling me utter bullshit?

JD started reading it to see what the fuss was over. About a 1/4 of the way through, she ruled it was utter crap, but she felt compelled to keep reading to find out if something would developed. By the time she finished, she again said the book was crap, but she was feeling compelled to continue reading the series to find out if any of her questions were answered.

Unfortunately, she found the books more frustrating than anything close to lol-worthy.
