"Danzig Queen! Young and sweet only seventeeeeeen!"
I did my ABBA phase a few years ago, and I still think Waterloo, Ring, Ring, and Arrival are wonderful albums. Perhaps some of the best pop albums ever. And nobody ever wrote a better pop song about the Spanish Civil War.
Most of my friends were female... I was in theater... I did Marley's Ghost as flamboyant as Charles Nelson Reilly... I dressed in drag several times... I had next to no fear of being mistaken as gay/effeminate... Was more likely to flip through Seventeen/Cosmo/Vogue than HotRod/Sports Illustrated... I was very open about my being a Barry Manilow fan and how he sang all the songs to me at the concert in HSV during my soph year...
Yeah, I'd put money on my being in the closet, too.

ABBA is good, like Peeps or root beer. It shouldn't be, but oh sweet lord it is.
