I can't do silence. I can't go without talking to myself, let alone not speaking to others when they speak to me.

My freshman year in high school, I took a vow of silence during school (as a demonstration of my romantic feelings toward a girl in my biology class). That lasted for just over a day. The experience was misery and I've had no desire to pursue that type of stunt again.

I could never do this. I am what people call "a talker."
I introduced JJ to some of my co-workers a few months ago and they said, "He's kinda quiet, huh?" "Yeah." "Well, that's okay, you talk enough for both of you."

One year, I believe it was his Junior year (or maybe Senior, not sure), Daniel gave up talking during school for Lent. The exception, of course, was if he needed to participate in a discussion or answer a question for class, but he just did not speak at all "socially". I could not even imagine doing that, but he said it really was an eye (or "ear")-opener, as he paid a lot more attention to conversations going on around him.
