Well, old school arcade video games... Galaga! As far as home video games... I think it's probably a toss up between Adventure and Combat (for the Atari 2600).

Wiki is an interesting place to explore old Atari Games. I didn't realize Swordquest was the sequel to Adventure until recently, nor did I realize why the game never, ever made sense to me. If you didn't have the instruction booklet, it was pointless. It looks much more fascinating now, though.
