The Process
First off, I must give HUGE thanks to bluevinylangel! There is just no way that we could risk having JD and I doing bleaching/coloring since Harper could call upon us at any time. If Blue hadn't come over, I don't know when I would have been able to do this.

Bleaching was lots of fun. I got all sorts of flashbacks to afternoons spent at Lewis's salon on 15th Street in T-town during college - sitting in a seat in the corner while my hair and scalp crackled from extended periods of peroxide on my head. Ah, those platinum blonde days. Anyway, here's me after bleaching.



I really wished that the color of my hair had turned out as colorful as the dye looked.




After 20 minutes, I was unimpressed.



So, we did another application. This time we also pulled out the blow dryer and kept the heat going the full time. It wasn't as blue as I had hoped for, but it was a pretty turquoise and was good enough to satisfy me.

The Results



I'm still debating whether or not I'll be buying more dye and begging Blue for another coloring session. If I'm going to do something, I'm not going to do it half-assed. Turquoise isn't blue. I want blue. :)

Have the kids dealt with you and dyed hair before? I remember last year shaving my head bald for the hell of it, and the first thing Reece asked me was if I wanted a hat.

This was the first time I've done something of the sort since having kids.

I expected Calvin to be gung-ho to help me dye my hair since he's always playing w/ his hair and wants to cut his and Nigel's hair. He likes the color but wasn't interested in the process.

Nigel keeps staring at my hair and giggling. He also keeps wanting to touch it.

Harper is also distracted by the hair but it makes her smile.

I was actually a bit surprised that my mom took this as bad as she did. I think she felt those wild days were behind me and it is improper for me to do wild things like that again.
