Why aren't you watching Reaper on the CW?

Okay, yes, it is on the CW. But just try to think of the show as an ABC production (which it is) that somehow didn't end up on the network (like Monk being on USA Network).

Sam's parents sold his soul to the devil to help them in a medical crisis. Now that he's 21, Sam has to help Satan find souls that are fugitives from hell. My favorite aspect of the show is Satan. He's not a cartoon version or made for easy laughs. He is a charming yet evil fellow. The writers never forget that, even when the other characters or viewers might. Keeping that mindset gives the show the type of "dramedy" credentials of Dogma. While Kevin Smith did direct the pilot and is a "consultant" for the show, this isn't part of the Askewniverse or anything.

Here's Sam and Satan having one of their typical chats.

I've seen several episodes. The Lucifer character is amazingly good. The girls are too hot. But the laughs are a bit too sparse for me. I want the show to succeed, but it reminds me of how much I was pulling for shows like Sledge Hammer! and Bakersfield P.D. They just couldn't sustain themselves.
