I'm tickled pink with excitement over the upcoming weather. Goodbye 90 degree highs of this past week. Today's high is 82. Tomorrow it will drop to 71 for the high and stick around that mark for the next week.

It's time again for me to become a regular feature in the yard relaxing instead of the forced 90 minutes or so during the summer for me to mow the grass before quickly fleeing indoors. Hello, porch swing, how I've missed you so.

To top it off, I'm planning on camping out in the backyard for the first time with Calvin Friday night. The hard part of the next couple of days will be deciding if I do a "campfire" or something else in addition to the sleeping in bags inside my new tent.

I'm glad it's cooling off. It's bad when you get hot and sweaty being outdoors in the second week of October. It'll be nice to wear some nicer clothes without feeling too hot in them all day. I've worn jeans almost every day this summer because they breathe well. Many slacks, even though they're thin and feel great, don't breathe and get all hot. Fleeced sweatpants, which I love to wear, don't work well when it's over 90 degrees. I want to be able to wear something besides jeans and not be soaked in sweat, so I'm looking forward to cool weather.

Wardrobe has definitely become one of the top reasons why I'm eager for the weather to shift. I'm really getting sick of my selection of "summer wear." My fall/winter wardrobe is way too large and summer wardrobe too small for my living in Alabama.

Besides, I enjoy a glass of wine in the evenings, but that stops in April because I get hot after a few sips and totally lose interest.
