Larry Deslattes - The Dude

Jeff Bridges looks so much like my best friend from college, Larry Deslattes. Thankfully, Larry's personality wasn't all that different from The Dude's. This clip also makes me wanna supplement my later Kenny Rogers albums with some of the stuff he did with the First Edition.

*sigh* Thinking of Larry, The Dude, and Kenny Rogers fills me with beard envy.

ETA (5/27/2008): Apparently this is the only thing that comes up in Google for Larry Deslattes. For those of you looking for Larry, I have contact info from when he found my journal a month or so ago. Just leave a comment (comment anonymously and it will be screened/not published) with an email address, how you know Larry, and one or more anecdotes, and I'll be back in touch with you.

The last few bits of news about Larry that I'd heard through mutual friends wasn't good.

And what else have you heard? I'll wager it probably isn't anything I haven't heard before.

I haven't heard anything really specific. He moved up there with another friend of mine, Robert, and Larry's then-lover, Martin. I last heard that Robert stopped contact with Larry because he had "become an alcoholic." Not much else was said.

So, no, I haven't heard any anecdotes/rumors/police reports/newspaper articles about what he's been up to for the past 12 years.

I bet he no longer has my HUGE rosary any more. If he does, I still want it back.
