I have been seriously craving some quality dancing time at a gay bar. However, I don't think there's a gay club in Huntsville right now. Is there?

A couple of weeks ago I pulled Erasure's greatest hits CD out of the jukebox and have been playing it in the various other players (cars, bedroom, computers). The boys love dancing to several songs. Little by little, Depeche Mode and other techno/electronica favorites have been populating my playlists.

I shouldn't let myself get too nostalgic for my pre-kid days when a trip to The Connection in Nashville to see a drag show and dancing with my arms above my head was just a matter of me hopping in the car and going. Who knows...one day I might be joining one of the boys or Monkey at a gay club.

Yes, there is! Insomnia, the club to the side of Visions, in the same big parking lot area. It's off of 72, heading out towards Madison. It's a nice place, and they play a lot of techno stuff. My best friend April LOVES the place and goes as often as she can. Unfortunately, the place is really not jumpin' until like 2 am until some other ungodly hour, hence the name Insomnia. ;)

There's Ozz. They have the drag show on Friday night and Saturday night, it's all DJ play.

I'd hardly know, but there was a gay club called, IIRC, Underground. The place was up on a hill, off the Parkway down near... well, shit, I've no idea what's near there anymore. But there was a Swensen's there twenty years ago.

It's like all the gay guy moved north or something.
