We currently have 3 raised beds for JD's garden and she has plans for 3 more.

During the rain today I started pondering capturing rainwater for a garden reservoir. The beds are on the south side of our backyard. I've seen where people keep a barrel at the base of the gutter downspout, but need to see how large of a reservoir I could easily do and methods of distributing the water other than by dipping a bucket into the barrel. Would there be enough pressure in the barrel for some sort of irrigation hose to come out of the bottom?

*grrrrr*

Looks like some prime surfing fodder and a few trips to Home Depot and Bennett's Nursery.

as long as the water level is higher than the beds, you should have enough pressure. more so if you are only using it for a drip system as they dont need a lot of pressure to work.
