There are a ton of things that JD and I can't do now that we have Calvin. Thankfully, we can still do our favorite pastime of trying different restaurants here in Dallas. Something that is a burr in my side is our inability to see all the movies we want. We don't have anyone here in town that can babysit for us. That leaves us with a single choice (which I am grateful for)...the Cry Baby Matinee at the local yuppie "art house" theater. Each Saturday morning is a different movie. It's sort of hit or miss on whether JD or I have any interest, but we've seen a few movies. Yesterday we saw "About Schmidt" in a theater filled w/ mommies and babies (and a few daddies like myself). Liked the movie until the end - don't know how I would have done it differently, but didn't care for the conclusion/lack thereof. My favorite part of the movie is when one child kept opening and slamming shut one of the doors on the changing table set up near the front of the auditorium. Calvin was very well behaved, but the beauty of these things is that when one child misbehaves/yells/laughs the crowd laughs because we can all relate and we are all glad that we don't have to try to sneak our children into a regular showing where we would be stoned for such occurrences.
