Harper: Demon of the Night
Nov. 1st, 2008 10:20 am( Last night was just plain miserable for me. )
I'm just SO DONE WITH BABIES! I've had my fill of (in no particular order):
1. Buying diapers
2. Harper eating anything she finds on the floor
3. Changing diapers
4. Bibs and messy eating
5. Poopy diapers
6. Baby breastfeeding and the restraints that puts on time JD and Harper spend apart
7. Wiping poop out of female nooks and crannies
8. Harper's inability to communicate with words
9. Nearly dying when I accidentally breathe while putting diapers in the diaper pail
10. Trying to keep Harper out of the bathroom/forbidden zones
11. Diapers that leak poop
12. Two naps a day which fluctuate
13. Discovering that a wet diaper is actually poopy and not having enough wipes handy
14. The baby bag and needed supplies which must accompany her on any ventures out of the house
15. Changing diapers in public restrooms/places
16. Having a stroller stored in the SUV...taking up the cargo space behind the third row
17. Changing diapers in public restrooms that DON'T have a diaper changing station
18. That "You're Not Mommy" cry/scream I get sometimes
But I'll cope thanks to:
1. Harper is cute! Even when she does that snaggle-toothed "potato face."
2. She's growing up and is slowly getting more independent and lower maintenance...SLOWLY...the key word is "slowly," though
3. When I look at her, pucker my lips big, and go "mmmmmmmmmm;" Harper responds by smiling and giving me a kiss. She'll do it over and over.
4. She is a girl, so it is my first time around for the Daddy/Daughter feelings and such
5. Walking around with her in a sling is bliss - it feels nice, we both enjoy it, and it's nice to get all the smiles, coos, and comments when I'm toting her around in public.
6. Calvin and Nigel are pretty good about helping out with Harper
