Nov. 27th, 2006 11:29 amFlush from the joy of having a new roof and disgusted by my trips into the attic the past week, I've called for an estimate on putting in new insulation in our attic. I always knew it would be just a matter of a few years in the house before we did something about it. When I did my bathroom fan inspection, I found several areas where the blown-in insulation had apparently blown up from some areas (even exposing the drywall of the ceiling) and mounded up in other areas.
Don't you know I turn on the TV the other day and This Old House is doing an energy audit w/ a focus on the attic insulation. The personal experience and the pro's advice has made me consider using our tax refund *knocks on wood* this year on insulation. But since I haven't the foggiest idea if it will cost $500 or $3000, I thought taking advantage of some free estimates would be worthwhile.
The first guy is coming by Wednesday afternoon.
