Nigel and Calvin left for my parents' house yesterday around 2pm. JD and I will head over for dinner there at 4pm.
The two of us have taken complete advantage of the freedom.
Our most impressive feat has been sleeping-in until 11am. It has been, at least, 2 years since we've slept that late. Calvin has never slept later than 9:30am in his life.
We got up in time to watch A Heavenly Kid. It is a horrible movie from the mid-80's. Kind of like Peggy Sue Got Married meets Teen Wolf. Oh, and there's this guy that keeps making racial slurs against the Japanese. I don't want to try to explain it...just go to imdb.
After that, we decided to do whatever chores can be done by sitting on or standing around our bed so we could then watch what Showtime was playing next: Sleepover. This is a conflicted movie...except to where it comes to being bad. Poor Steve Carell and Jane Lynch (part of the Christopher Guest troupe) earn their paychecks here. Although the story seems targeted at tweens, there is some crass stuff in there along with the Disney-esque, rainbow-colored cinematography. Too many plot questions and concerns to list them all.
Ah, what a fun day! :)
