It died!

The water heater decided to die today. Since we ran the dishwasher and washing machine earlier today, the lack of hot water at the sink didn't seem that bad...until JD couldn't get any hot water tonight around 10pm (6+ hours after running the hot water last). I popped open the unit and there was a lovely burnt smell. The unit is 23 years old, so I can't really complain. Now I'm giving myself 48 hours to research, purchase, and install a new unit. We've pondered the tankless option this past year and I need to see if it is feasible.
