Gotta take a break

I loves me some MST3K! I do, so much, I do.

However, mst3k has become too much of a burden this past month to my flist. As all of you might be able to tell, I'm not one of those folks that have 50+ friends (on LJ or in real life). When I sit down to read through my flist, I've become accustomed to catching up on the day's posts on a single page. Over the weekend it may stretch out a little more. There have been so many times lately that I've had to go through 3+ pages because of the *cough*PostWhores!*cough* that have recently started plundering mst3k. I'm just going to have to check out that community separate from my flist for a little while. Maybe the primary offenders will move on or get bored. :(

Freaks and Geeks

I was forced to take another look at Freaks and Geeks last week when I visited my brother in B'ham. I saw a few minutes of a couple of episodes when it was on the air, but it just didn't grab me. You know how it is sometimes...jokes are good, characters are likeable, but there's just something lacking that keeps you from sticking around or coming back from more.

Shortlegs bought the complete series on DVD and made me watch a couple of episodes (him plying me with a White Russian helped). I gotta hate him a little because he showed me two episodes from the end of the series, but he got me hooked. He's loaned me the DVDs and I tried infecting JD with the show last night. Not hooked yet, but I think she actually looked up from her smut novel several times to watch full scenes (she NEVER watches TV without a book in her hand to read at the same time).

Now I'm just eagerly awaiting the episodes guest starring the hilarious...
