Computer Down

csberryMy computer started shutting down a couple of months ago. The case would feel hot, so I checked the fans and found the front one (of the 6 in the case) wasn't working. I replace it, but a couple of days later the computer shuts down again. I remove one side of the case to help the ventilation (It's under my desk in a corner). That works until this past week. After it shut down on me three times yesterday, I decided to call in the troops and the fil came over to help me fix it.
While replacing the power supply (which is about 6 years old), he noticed that the heatsink for the CPU was loose. We plug everything in, press the power button, a fan shutters for a millisecond, but nothing else happens. Great, the motherboard aborted start up.
It was time for Nigel to hit the sack, so my fil kidnapped my case and took it home to replace parts until it works again.
*sigh*
Now I have to go for a day or two *knocks on wood* without porn! My laptop's video capability just can't do porn justice. All video looks like a slide show.
*sigh* *giggles*
Thankfully, the files for the client I'm meeting with tomorrow are on my thumbdrive and not one of the harddrives of the computer.
