Hola!

After moving to Dallas, I got into the habit of saying "Hola" instead of "hello," especially when answering the phone. One of the best aspects of doing this is that it gives me another way of screwing with telemarketers. The following just happened...

*phone rings*
Me - Hola!
Caller - (concerned) Do you speak English?
(The unmistakable sound of cubicles filled with telemarketers in the background)
Me - Si!
Caller - (slower - maybe thinking I didn't understand her) Do you speak English?
Me - Si!
Caller - (more agitated) Do you speak English?
Me - (Very perky) Si, si, si!
Caller - (now pissed) I asked if you...speak...English!
Me - And I said, "Si!"
Caller - Ugh! (slams down phone)
