My Friday Date Night

The in-laws were to come to our house last night to babysit Nigel for us so we could go out to a movie or something. However, earlier in the day, JD gets a call about one of her friends going to the hospital. Wendy's 2 week old boy came down with a Strep A infection. He's going to have to be in for 2-4 weeks for treatment. To top it off, yesterday was also Wendy's 10 year old daughter's b-day party. So when her husband left the hospital, JD went to stay.

After JD got the call from Wendy's husband, I start rescheduling my evening to taking care of Nigel. That didn't stay that way for long because the in-laws insisted on having some time with Nigel.

Now I had to figure out what the hell to do in Huntsville, by myself, for 3 hours on a Friday evening. The solution was easy - drive to Decatur! More specifically, I put Jamiroquai and Steely Dan in the car and drove 45 minutes to the closest Steak and Shake! It had been too long since I've had a chili 5-way and I wasn't going to be denied any longer.

When I got back into town, I drove down the road from my house to The Corner for a couple of White Russians before calling it a night.

I haven't had Steak and Shake in many months. Now you've got me wanting to drive out to Decatur!
