If you read this, if your eyes are passing over this right now, (even if we don't speak often) please post a comment with a COMPLETELY MADE UP AND FICTIONAL memory of you and me. It can be anything you want - good or bad - BUT IT HAS TO BE FAKE. When you're finished, post this little paragraph on your blog and be surprised (or mortified) about what people DON'T ACTUALLY remember about you.

That story is so perfectly aligned with reality, it actually made me a little disappointed that we haven't gone out in drag together. :( I do make a pretty good woman, though (it's my "birthin' hips" and long legs that go on for ever)!

Goodness... I can't believe that I haven't replied to your comment before now.

Yes, the comment was very aligned with reality. I will never forget the day that you walked into drama dressed as a Robert Palmer Girl. I was so in awe of how secure you must have been with yourself to do that, when I was lying to everyone by not telling them I was gay. You made an awesome woman, even if you were (are) tall. lol

If it disappoints you so much then maybe we should dress in drag, go out, and "play the part". It would be extremely fun and make great pictures and a story. My husband wouldn't mind, my "wife who is not gay" (Cyn), would think it was hilarious, but I am not sure how your wife would take it, so I will leave it up to you to decide if it would be a fun "play date". ;)

JD wouldn't have a problem with it other than she would want to go along. Not as a chaperone, but she wouldn't want to miss out on such a night. As with most everything else I want to do, the whole kids-thing makes the concept of "free time" seem completely foreign to me now. It's only in the past month or so that JD and I are resuming our date nights once every week or two. As Nigel gets less dependent on the boob, our freedom will increase.

Just earlier today I was fantasizing about the next weekend trip I want to have with JD. Our last one was for our anniversary last year (March 13). Don't you know that Nigel was born nine months later...

I totally understand about those special weekends that give us bundles of joy. Precious was one of those, and very unexpected since I was still nursing a 4 1/2 month old when I got pregnant with her. Well when you get more free time, and yes, it really does happen, we can have a group night and BR can escort JD and Cyn so that everyone can get in on the hilarity of the evening. :)

So where would you like to take JD on your next weekend of "freedom"?

Doing a similar weekend to the one for our anniversary would be nice. We would be certain to have a north facing view (great view of capital building with skyscrapers on each side), change the Saturday daytime itinerary, and make some other small changes. Doing anything in Nashville instantly adds romance and nostalgia because that is where we lived in sin and got married (aka - when we were just a couple and not a "family.").

For the sake of doing something different, I want to get some opinions from folks about doing a B&B on the mountain in Mentone, AL. If I had the money, I would love to fly her to D.C. (focus on nighttime strolls and seeing "culture"), St. Louis (where we moved after Nashville), Chicago, or NYC.

If I really had time and money to spare, I'd do a repeat of our honeymoon. We flew to the Netherlands for a week: two days in The Hague, one day in Rotterdam, and three days in Amsterdam. It's amazing how much under budget we were on that trip last time. This time I would splurge more in Amsterdam! ;)
