I recently ate this pizza:

While breaking down the box for recycling I noticed the expiration date...

Would that be 8:03am or 8:03pm?

it's probably 24 hour time.

i'd say a.m., to be on the safe side :P

That's actually a shipping code, referring to the shipment it went out with. Which is a good thing, I suppose....I mean, at 8:04 you'd be saying,"Does this taste funny to you?"
I work at a store, and I've seen this sort of thing before, where the shipping codes fit a little too well with the expiration date. My personal favorite was a candy bar that said it expired in October 2006 BC.

I noticed one of my yogurts a month or so ago had something like Sept 14 01. For the hell of it I called up the 800# on the container just to ask about it. They said the 01 was part of the shipping code, too (they don't put the year since the yogurt doesn't have a long enough shelf life to warrant it).

Yeah, it'd be nice if they came up with a code that's a little less ambiguous, wouldn't it? That's marketing for you.
