Admittedly, politically, a mug shot is a lose/lose situation...but a hearty grin like you're posing for a yearbook picture is creepy to me. A look of determination, class, or confidence is the best you can do. But to grin like that?

Some folks have speculated that the grin is to inoculate him against political ads using it against him. However, an ad talking about all the evil things he has done with the voiceover concluding that DeLay is smiling while others are suffering makes this silly picture moot.

they could also make his picture look demonic.

D'oh!!!

They make up the bulk of the people that read my journal!

I watched some of the court hearing this morning where Delay's attorney asked the judge to recuse himself and his reasons why he requested it. but I didn't get to hear all of it because my wife called. I think he should recuse himself since he's contributed to MoveOn.org. But that's me, ya know.

That sounds to me a little like saying that the judge should recuse himself if he's ever voted Democrat.

Of course, my personal sense of justice says that the judge should recuse himself if Tom DeLay gets in a time machine and convinces Antonin Scalia to recuse himself in the Dick Cheney case. And then we can have a conversation about Sandra Day O'Connor's publically-expressed political opinions and Bush v. Gore. And then maybe.

But I'm biased.
