Got some good news from Baylor today. They are taking Calvin out from under the lights and removing him from the reflux medication. Tomorrow morning JD and I will be going to the hospital and we will be "rooming in" with Calvin. They'll put us in a room with him and get to stay all day and night with him. He'll still be hooked up to a heart monitor, but hopefully we'll be out Sunday. JD was told that tomorrow they'll do the car seat test (he sits there for an hour and they make certain he doesn't flop into a position that cuts off his breathing/pulse), and teach us about what medications -if any- we will need to give him. She and I might also end up learning more about the heart monitor and have one sent home with us. I would say that there is now a 75% chance of us leaving sometime Sunday and me going back to work on Monday.

JD has been very depressed the past day, climaxing this afternoon before the new news, about her mom going home tomorrow morning and never having some time with her at home with Calvin. I told her that if there was anything that I've learned being around THE Darrell Ankarlo all these years, it's that it never hurts to ask even though you are convinced about what the answer is. JD called the hospital, got the news, and asked her mom to stay until Tuesday...and she will. So JD's mom is going to pick up my parents at the airport tomorrow morning and bring them into the hospital. This will now mean that I will be solo in the nursery (so I'll be well rested and won't awake anyone w/ my alarm at 2:50am); JD, her mom, and Calvin will be sleeping in our bedroom (so they can share the queen rather than the full in the nursery); and my parents will be in the living room sleeping on an air mattress and/or the sofa. :)
