Thought completely out of left field

This thought occurred to me a lil while ago. I need to ponder it over some more, but it seems promising - Can all politics be tied to the question "what is an acceptable way to die?"

Widely acceptable, thus legal ways:
Smoking (but as long as the tobacco companies don't lie)
Heart disease (and other obesity related health problems)

Widely not acceptable, thus illegal ways:
Stabbings/Shootings, Rape, and other forms of violence
Torture
Receiving a death threat (armed robbery/assault/battery/harassment/stalking)

Slightly unacceptable, thus not (or barely) criminal but are civilly responsible:
Bankruptcy/Poverty
Acts of Nature (disaster relief is the govt acting out of civil responsibility)
Professionals making mistakes that result in fatalities (doctors/scientists/engineers)

Controversial ways to die, thus polarizing political issues:
In the womb/abortion
Drug overdose
War
Euthanasia
STDs

SIGH ... there go my weekend plans. :(

All that aside, it is a pretty deep thought you have there. It would seem that we're as a nation, politically polarized on both sides of these issues.
