This stunt is the epitome of what we wanted the RoadKill stunts to be - funny but insightful. Sure, there were plenty of mornings that it was silliness for silliness sake, but mornings like this is what we wished for when looking for inspiration.

Background info...
This was during the Lewinsky Era. Clinton had just given his testimony that was filled with such comments as "It depends on what your definition of 'is' is." Conservatives were screaming bloody murder and there were people defending Clinton by saying that it's okay to lie. So, I was sent into downtown Nashville with a pack of cigarettes. My mission was to grab people to do a person-on-the-street phone interview with Darrell about ...something, it didn't matter. The trick was that I would smoke a cigarette while we waited to go on the air. That person would hear me argue with Darrell and lie about smoking. Darrell would then talk to them and ask if I had been smoking.

Let's just say that a lot of people are willing to lie for strangers.

As a bleeding-heart liberal, there were a lot of things we did/said on the show that ticked JD off. The RoadKill stunts are bits of the show that are 80% likely to get a positive reaction out of her. I was testing the downloads of the audio last night (been trying to post them for a couple of weeks but kept having probs) and would listen to all the clips to ensure they downloaded completely. JD laughed along to them (the honesty one as well as -my fav- the Charmin stunt).

My hours at work have been VERY sluggish for the past month, so I've been killing myself with leftovers for lunch. I'm expecting a nice paycheck at the end of the month if you have any interest in meeting up for lunch again. You are welcome to visit on the weekend...especially if you want to help me out with yard work!!! :) I'll supply beverages and a meal or two at the house for the labor.
