JD woke up at 5am with a sinus headache and it never really goes away all day. I was kinda looking forward to today because it is one of the few weekends that we don't have any duties in the yard/garden. Other than birth classes, we were open to do whatever. Since I have been staying up later than I like (isn't it sad that I consider 9:30pm late?) because of this whole "no eating for 3 hours before bed," I definitely wanted to sleep in a good deal this weekend. I could be more leisurely knowing that D was in Houston for the weekend and wouldn't be calling with ideas/chores for work. Alas, I spend much of the day inside under a blanket on the sofa. Despite the sunny skies and 67ish degrees outside, our living room stays cold - hope that continues into the summer - and we stay huddled inside. It really got to me when I was asked to run out to Hollywood Video and Kroger around lunchtime. I drive thru the neighborhood and see tons of people out walking around, plenty of garage sales, and going by White Rock Lake...all the bikers and hikers! Just to demonstrate how lazy I was today, I spent $9 on a bag of 1 1/2 lbs of already cooked and diced chicken breast rather then just taking some frozen breasts out of the freezer, thawing, cooking, and cutting them up for the jambalaya I cooked for dinner. I'm rested, but feel like I really wasted the day nonetheless. I have ridden my bike once in the 6 months that I've been here. I know that I clocked a lot of time on it in St. Louis because I was unemployed when I got it on my b-day in May to when I left, but I should be better about getting out than I am. JD doesn't have a bike and has little interest in walking/volksmarching, so I don't have a partner to motivate me or join me on these excursions. I hope that I'll be eager enough w/ a baby seat on the back to take Duckie out after he/she's born. I might want a bike rack for the car if I'm going to ride around White Rock Lake though.

What am I gonna do tomorrow? Wake up around 8am, record audio from the Sunday news shows, cut out clips for us to use on the show, and get stuff ready for Monday's show from what I can find on the Internet. Then at noon, I'll watch NASCAR for about 4 hours (AT BRISTOL THIS WEEKEND...WOO-HOO!!!). From about 4pm to 7pm, I'll be free to do what I want. During the Oscars, though, I go back to work recording audio for use on Monday's show. I do hate being forced to watch anything of pop interest because I have to gather audio. Can't wait to have someone on the show who can do it for me, so I can flip around and not have to watch every minute noting times of quotable clips and such.

JD's been trying to get me to feel Duckie. Can't do it. I don't know what it is, but it just feels like gas to me right now. If what I feel in her tummy is a child, then the one in my tummy is about a month older than hers (very gassy this weekend too...but I digress). JD says that she gets in poking games with Duckie where she pokes back on her tummy when Duckie kicks. She says this usually lasts for about 4 pokes before Duckie either gets bored or something. The worrywart in me thinks that by the forth poke by JD, the child has passed out from a concussion from all the poking. My child will have a head as dimpled as a golf ball from all the poking JD does to her tummy!!!
