348 - Muddy Waters - At Newport
Oct. 26th, 2011 03:46 pmThis is a great live album. Muddy and his band sound really tight. The harmonica playing is essential and yet doesn't distract the listener. There is a delicate wail that is captured on this album that I don't think I've heard in his studio recordings. I wish I had something more profound to say about this album. I found it a great listen, but not something I'll reach for to listen for my own sake.
Songs I knew I liked: "I'm Your Hoochie Coochie Man" and "I've Got My Mojo Working"
Songs I didn't know but now like: "I Got My Brand on You" and "Tiger in Your Tank"
Songs I can go the rest of my life without hearing again: None
