Last night, I got the kitchen all set to run the Scooba while JD and I would be watching our Thursday night shows*. I filled up the tank for the Scooba and turned on the Power. The "Check Brush" light came on. I checked the brush and everything seemed fine. Light still on. I check again. Still on. I decide to try to see if the Scooba needed a "reboot" to figure out the brush was fine. Light still on.

I then go to the iRobot site and head to the support section. I put "check brush" into the search and get a list of results. At the top of the list are two links, both labeled "Scooba's yellow 'Check Brush' indicator is lit." It listed 3 or so things for me to troubleshoot. Everything checks out fine, but the light is still on. Since it was so late and couldn't call tech support, I called it quits and planned to tackle this in the morning during b'fast.

This morning, for the hell of it, I decided to click the second "Scooba's yellow 'Check Brush' indicator is lit" link. IT HAD AN ITEM NOT MENTIONED IN THE OTHER LINK!!! This one included a mention to ensure that the filter (no where close to the brush) is properly seated in its place. I look at the unit and see the filter isn't in place. I had forgotten to put it back into the Scooba when I cleaned it last and set it in the bin next to the unit. I grabbed the filter, put it in the unit, and the "Check Brush" light was no longer lit.

I am equally frustrated with myself and iRobot's support page right now. Since the unit is a bit loud and freaks out both boys, I must now wait until some point later today to run it. That is particularly troublesome since they will be with me or at home all day. Sure, my parents get the kids tonight, but Calvin's Cub den is going to the Huntsville Havoc's (hockey - yeah, hockey in the South! But there are so many transplants in HSV, that the town actually has a sizable hockey fan base) Scout Night. So, I'll be joining the boys with my parents for dinner, leaving there to take Calvin to the hockey game, and won't likely be home until 9-10pm. JOY!

OH, and pardon a tangential gripe...because of the hockey game tonight and my working the Boy Scout conservation drive (where we drive around and pick up folks' recycling to sell and raise money for Meals on Wheels)from 9am-1pmish on Saturday, I have decided that it would probably not be a good idea for me to join JD and a friend of hers see a high school friend of theirs perform in a drag show tonight at 10:30pm. Who knows, I am very eager to see a drag show for a while now and burst with enthusiasm last evening when I thought about going along (but seeing if [livejournal.com profile] chris21718 would go with me so I wouldn't be the third wheel w/ JD and her friend).

* It is pretty scary on Thursday nights as our DVR records all of the following:
Community
Parks & Recreation
The Office
30 Rock
Survivor: Samoa
Grey's Anatomy
Ace of Cakes
Project Runway
The Rotten Tomatoes Show
