The actual first time that JD and I met was during my junior year at Bama. I was the music director at the college station. This was such my perfect job and I spent so much time at the station that I kept a toilet kit in my desk so I could sleep there and brush/comb/shave in the bathroom down the hall. One day, my “lil sis” (Jenny Puckett) comes by the station because she’s on campus for some sort of conference/workshop for high schoolers that weekend. With her was some girl. I have no memory of her other than she seemed kinda repulsed by me and uninterested in conversation. Whatever, it didn’t matter because I was in a rush to go down the hall and shave before driving to Auburn to visit my then "female companion."
JD only remembers meeting this white-haired (I had it BLEACHED white at the time) guy that was bouncing all over the place and talking a mile a minute. I gave them some of free music from the extras bin.
Okay. Now forget all of that.
My Lil Sis contacted me to let me know that she wasn’t going to be going to Bama, but her best friend would. Could I be so kind to meet up with her friend? I took no effort to track this unknown girl down, but – as fate strangely had it – we bumped into each other on campus…a GLBA meeting one night. I haven’t the foggiest idea why I was there that night (probably begged by John Ehrley or bossed into it by Lewis) but JD accompanied one or more of her lesbian dorm mates. She had my Lil Sis’s new address in South Carolina and rushed over to me after the meeting to get me her phone number so we could get together and I could get the address from JD.
2.) Who introduced you?
My "Lil Sis" - Jenny Puckett.
3.) What was the first thought that went through your head when you met?
First meeting, I was probably thinking about how nice I needed to be and yet how fast I needed to be so I could get on the road. At the GLBA, when I saw her, I do remember thinking - "WTF!?"
4.) Do you remember what he/she was wearing?
Nope.
5.) Where was the first place you kissed this person?
Tuscaloosa, AL - can't really get any more specific than that.
6.) How long did you know this person before you became a couple?
We started dating pretty quickly after meeting...but becoming a couple? I fought that for a while since I was convinced that my graduating and her having 3 more years at Bama was going to kill any relationship anyway.
7.) How did he/she ask you out?
By telling me she had Jenny's address at her dorm room. Yes, another woman's contact info was the bait she used. :)
8.) Do you have kids with this person?
Yes.
9.) Have you ever broken the law with this person?
*Looks at statute of limitations* No comment.
10.) When was the first time you realized that you really liked this person?
No particular moment.
11.) Do you get along with his/her family?
Yes...but I've always gotten along as well or better with my friends' parents. I remember meeting them for the first time and the fact they were very impressed that I didn't seem nervous at all.

I should say the kids or her marrying me, shouldn't I? Instead, I'll say it is probably an herb-stuffed pillow she gave me early in our relationship that I would fluff and sniff when I was thinking of her while we were apart.

We've known each other for 15 years and been married for 10.

Pretty well. If I was better about paying attention, I'd probably know most everything about her.

Um...hmmmm...how to answer? We'll have dinner tonight as usual and herd the kids through their evening routine. After that, I guess kill time till we are empty nesters and I can talk her into moving into a inner-city dwelling (high-rise condo, rowhouse, or other urban abode).
