New Turntable!!!

My family had my birthday party yesterday. The big item was a turntable. Nothing fancy - (from Ion). It seems decent and has both RCA and USB connections. Alas, I haven't been able to hear anything through the USB connection, so I'm listening to vinyl via RCA cables going to my DAT player and then the SPDIF cable connected to the computer.
Since confirming the turntable worked, I've been christening albums I bought after my old turntable died and have never listened to. The big album that I've played twice now is XTC's Beeswax (B-sides from '73-'83). I've heard (I think) all of these on various CD collections through the years, but have never played the album. I also played the title track to the collectors edition of Are You Gonna Go My Way, which is pressed on clear vinyl.
Along w/ the unheard albums, I've been playing some albums and 45's I loved to listen to in my childhood. Michael Jackson's Thriller, A Night at Studio 54, sappy 80's Top 40s (Bryan Adam's "Straight to the Heart," Billy Preston & Syreeta's "When I'm With You I'm Born Again," Wham!'s "I'm Your Man"), the soundtrack to American Graffiti, and others.
I've been pleasantly surprised with how few skips/hops I've come across today. I do need to try to find some accessories like vinyl brush, extra needle cartridges, and the like. The only turntable stuff I could find that I kept are platter pads and anti-skate obstacle course test albums - which I have two, so if anyone local would like to have my spare, just let me know.
Gimme a few months of gorging on the vinyl I have,
theverticalbar, and then I'll probably start poking my head around the record shop for new stuff. :)
ETA: While it is nice to listen to the vinyl albums, I do miss my old hi-fi that had a tall spindle which I could stack 3 albums (the 45 adapter would allow up to 5) and it would automatically drop the next album down when it completed the side of an album.
