Sick and Tired

csberryI've survived the Berry Xmas Tour 2007! But not scrape free. I've got respiratory leprosy. Lots and lots of drainage filled my belly yesterday, was thick enough to inhibit breathing through my nose last evening, and the mouth breathing and coughing on phlegm has my throat aching.
Yesterday was far more productive than I had hoped for the day after Christmas. Calvin joined me on my post-Xmas store hunt at Home Depot, Lowe's, and Target. I bought a bunch of Xmas decorations (sorely needed new lights to replace the strings that went goofy over the past year - resulting in a darkened lower portion of my Xmas tree and part of the garland on the front porch not lighting):
2 boxes of GE 100-string clear lights - $2 x 2 = $4
2 25-ft strings of clear lighted garland - $5 x 2 = $10
4 3x5' light nets for bushes - $3 x 4 = $12
Dale E Xmas ornament for my dad = 75 cents
pretty cloth tree skirt = $10
Then, tacked onto that trip, was my picking up Nigel from home and meeting JD's family w/ the lovely bro, sis, and two kids at Rosie's for lunch. I didn't get home until close to 2pm. My day of being 80% lazy and puttering around the house had disappeared. I was worn out, but had to do major cleaning in the kitchen so we would have the space for cooking dinner.
Harper is also sick, so JD pretty much had the lil girl stuck on her for the bulk of the day. Nigel was a complete freak yesterday; the epitome of the 2-3 year old stereotype - contradicting others for the sake of it, changing his mind immediately after making decisions, and being a whiny Klingon. Somehow, the boys made it to bed w/o JD or I losing patience (several times were quite frustrated, but stayed mellow enough not to ruin anyone's day).
I intend for today to be the lazy puttering day I had planned for yesterday. All I really want to do right now, though, is to just crawl back into bed, spray some eucalyptus (or similar) into the air to free up my nose enough to actually breathe through it, and maybe spend some time this afternoon in a steam bath.
