The Big Express is one of the better produced records in their studio-only phase, IMO. The use of sounds, odd structures, and chugging nature of many of the songs ties the songs together very well. It is all done without going overboard (e.g., Oranges & Lemons).
O&L has a nostalgic place for me since it's the album that really exposed me to the band (I think I might have heard "SWO" previously) when it was released. There were a few weeks where songs from the album, or mentioned of the band/album, kept popping up. Hell, one day while flipping through the channels, a blonde woman on QVC or HSN was selling a karaoke machine by playing O&L and talking about how she loved to sing along with XTC.
