I am floored after reading an article in Snopes tonight:

It's one thing to oppose the war, but to send that response is insane on so many levels. Anyone with friends in the military community might want to pass this link along. I've already visited the company's site and voiced my displeasure.

Why does this floor you?
A lot of people think the war is stupid, and this business refused sale to someone because they don't want to support the war in any way.

We aren't talking about someone being called a baby killer, or having their house burned. A company refused to sell to someone because they disagree with a government policy the person was involved in. I bet this company wouldnt ship to Bush either

If this were a hospital or something life threatening, maybe i could see outrage. But flooring?

People in the military have to be prepared that not everyone is going to think they are doing a great job. Some people see them as chumps, playing war for a bunch of idiots.

At least this company is standing on its ideals. Better than the pro war schmucks that wont let their kids go into the military.

America is tricky like that. If you decide to do something, sometimes it has consequence.

Shouldn't the GOVERNMENT be providing mats for the soldiers?

After all, the soldiers didnt go there on their own.

GO TEAM BUSH! Put US troops under Iraqi control and then make them buy their own bedding during a war.

What next? Make the soldiers pay for bullets and the gas they use on patrols?

I am surprised by a company saying something like that to a potential customer. It is purely a "customer service" problem here, nothing at all to do with the actual content.

1. To be so rude
2. To have it in email form so it can easily be propagated around the public
3. Why not just say you don't send to APOs and leave it there, why take the chance that you are shooting yourself in the foot?

I don't see the point of the response by the company, no matter the rationale or feeling about what the potential customer is doing.

From what I understand, the troops have govt issued mats, but leaders will often purchase superior products to boost morale and/or circumvent the bureaucratic processes within the military to acquire additional/superior items.
